Small was decidedly beautiful for their home marriage ceremony
Zeb and Maria's marriage ceremony at their home Marriage Ceremony at home is intimate and special. Their marriage ceremony at their home was conducted in their lounge which overlooks an attractive garden. Zeb and Maria invited a few special friends to witness them making their marriage vows.   Their friends felt honoured and valued being included in this pivotal day for Maria and Zeb.  After the marriage ceremony champagne flowed and delectable nibbles were served, and the group later went to a restaurant to continue their wedding celebration.

Celebrants Getting Creative 0

30 of us Celebrants met on Saturday to be encouraged to be even more creative in our ceremonies. We discussed the use of candles, flowers, hand-fasting, sand ceremonies, using the Quaich and releasing doves and butterflies, the use of music, working with photographers and what to do when the unexpected happens in a ceremony. When a group of celebrants sit down together much is shared and so much learnt in an atmosphere of conviviality and openness. Small Wedding

Increasingly I am being asked to perform ceremonies for small groups, sometimes as small as just the couple marrying and two witnesses. These ceremonies can be really delightful. It has occurred to me recently that a lot of people have a casket of ashes of a loved one, that they don’t know what to do with.It feels like unfinished business, both for themselves and the one who has passed away.  So I have come up with a plan to make putting ‘Ashes to Rest’ a dedicated part of my celebrant work. I am looking forward to marrying a lovely couple who have come from Ireland to take part in the World Triathlon that is happening in Auckland this weekend. They have chosen Waiheke for their wedding and will be taking a few days to relax and look around over there after the pressures of her event.
